This week, K-State Research and Extension gave a lesson to our 5th Grade on the fat content of Fast Food. They also provided students with a food sample of "Colorful Quesadillas". We appreciate the Research and Extension Office coming and working with our students!
Last week, Neosho Rapids had their first "Mini-Family" meeting. Students played some icebreaker games with their mini-family to get to know everyone in their mini-family. Thank you Mrs. Nunley and Ms. Samuels for planning this for our mini-families.
Congratulations to our FBLA Students who placed in the top 10 at District FBLA and have qualified to compete at the State Conference in April! Way to go Jaguars!
HJSHS Staff of the week: Mr. Dandrea
Mr. Dandrea was nominated because he always has a positive attitude and does a lot for our school. He goes out of his way to do more than what he has to. Mr. Dandrea’s qualities include: being positive, staying cool when stressed, and he is helpful to our community.

Crady was nominated because he works hard in class, cares about his grades and is always ready for class. Crady also tries his best to set a good example for others.
Keilee was nominated because of her presentation to Olpe, Hartford, and Neosho Rapids teachers and voicing student concerns to our teachers in the district.

Attached is the updated LCL Basketball Tournament Bracket. Monday and Tuesday games have been moved back one day, as stated previously.
Please use extreme caution in and around our parking areas, especially for those students who are driving to school. It is extremely slick due to recent weather and temperatures.

Our 5th grade students at Neosho Rapids traveled to the Lyon County Fair Grounds to take part in a bread making lesson from the Lyon County Extension Office on Thursday!
Congrats to these Jaguars Scholars and Coach Ann Payton - Our Jags placed 2nd at LCL Scholars Bowl today. Way to go Greyson, Oliver, Trinity, Bo, and Emma!
Due to a water line break and no water in our building, Hartford Junior-Senior High School will be dismissing at 9:00 AM. Bus routes will run at 9 o'clock dismissal. Neosho Rapids Elementary and daycare will still be in session as originally scheduled. High School Scholar's Bowl will still compete today at Waverly, leaving the high school at noon. Again, Neosho Rapids Elementary and daycare will be in session as a normal day, we will dismiss junior and senior high students at 9:00 AM, with bus routes running at that time. Due to severe weather conditions and dangerously low windchill expected on January 16th, I have made the decision to close school for the safety of our students and staff. Daycare will also be closed.

All, we’d like to apologize for continued schedule changes. We know this is late notice, but we want to keep all in the loop.
Due to some schools opting out tomorrow, our JH Boys will now play at 10:15 in Olpe’s big gym. The JH girls will play immediately after in the same gym. THE BUS WILL NOW LEAVE AT 9:30 INSTEAD OF 9:45.
The HS games in Burlingame have again been postponed with a reschedule date being worked on.
We know this is frustrating for families. Much of the schedule changes have been out of our control and we are doing our best to ensure our kids can play the games they were scheduled to play. Please do not hesitate to contact Mr. Dandrea with questions or concerns.
